Have this nice 5 cd player, only trouble is now appearing: the cd-tray is
getting increasingly slow in opening and closing. Has any of you a quick fix
for this ?
Thanks, Larry

could be belt driven, and its slipping, or if gear driven, the grease is
gummed up.

belt should be available at any repair parts place, if its grease, replace
only with grease designed for plastic parts. Petroleum based grease could
ruin or weaken the plastic. check the slide rails for plastic "dust"
slowing things down.

If no mechanical faults are obvious, maybe the drive circuit for the motor
has poor solder joints. Most likely a slipping belt tho.

biggest job may be just getting at the drive train on the thing.

Ray
