Hi,

anyone know of a reasonably easy to obtain 8-pin SIL op-amp?
Trying to replace an NJM072BL, but these are difficult/expensive to find in
the UK.

Any dual op-amp will do.

Cheers,

Gareth.

Thanks, but the 8.50 euro shipping is though.

** The NJM4558L should do:

http://www.synthdiy.com/files/2006/NJM4558_ae04052.pdf

Beware, there is also an " S " version with 9 pins.

Lop pin 1 off and you are sweet.

The BJT4558 has a lower noise floor than the BiFET 072.

Thanks for that Phil, can get those cheap enough on ebay.

I guess this was never a popular package? I see them in Soundcraft mixers
where the packed narrow channel width makes sense to use them, but not in
much else.
(Yamaha Q2031 graphic uses a 4570 in similar package)

On occasion, when I've been stuck, I've flattened out the pins, dead-cat
style. on a standard DIL TL072, then stood it up. You can get four of the
pins from one side straight into four of the holes in the board. The
remaining four can be hooked to the other four board holes, with thin
etch-revision wire.

That's cheating! but in any case, I've done something like that before.

I used pre-etched perf board with a male header pins solder on the edge
so to match up the original and put a replacement part that would work
on a daughter board.

I've also done things like this when making modifications to
electronics. :) Remove chip, insert daughter board.

** IME, Soundcraft " Spirit " desks often use the 9 pin NJM072S - the
doubled " + " pins connecting the +15V track around the PCB.

I have a small pile of surface mount JRC 4560 for that sort of bodging,
stagger
setting of the pins makes soldering to wires easy

I did that once too!

Before posting this thread, I did some Googling and found an 8-pin SIL
op-amp adaptor PCB onto which you could solder 2 single SMD op-amps.
(It was in the States and postage etc made it an expensive option)
Couldn't find one which you could mount a single dual device instead, which
I found a bit odd.

Can't find it now otherwise I'd post a link.

Cheers,

Gareth.

You can get similar items from these guys for less and a wider
selection. I've used them and they're good
