I am trying to repair a Marantz 510M stereo amplifier. One of the channels was
blown out, in trying to repair it I've run across a transistor that I have not
been able to locate. The transistor is a SJE1602 (it is the BIAS transistor).
Would anyone be able to point me in the direction of where to find this part?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Please respond via E-Mail to: spun...@paragonvideoandstereo.com
Thanks very much in advance!
Hello,
The bias transistor (Q-401) is indeed shown on the schematic as an
SJE-1602. On the parts list it is shown as an MJE-180 (Marantz part #
462-1067-020) I doubt that Marantz still has it. the specs on the
MJE-180 are:
NPN, TO-126 case
60 V(CBO)
40V(CEO)
3A
1.5W T(A) =25C
12.5W T(C)=25C
50-250 beta
50 MHz
I'd think you could find these from a full service Motorola
distributor.

For some time now, I am trying to find Dual(Stereo) Potentiometar 100K
with 2x4 legs to replace orginal of my Marantz DC-850 amplifier VOLUME
control. Any suggestions? Aditional contacts should control low bass
response at lower lavels!
