Not really lasers or electronics, but I'm trying to locate either a complete
valve or part for the following solenoid operated vacuum valve marked:

Stalger
20 SAH
100% Vac
3V = 100% ED
2.84

The tiny hard rubber plunger that does the actual sealing is worn - that's all
that is needed. I may end up having to just fab a replacement from something.

Thanks.

How about what it is out of as well. Is it medical? I might be able
to help then. I also take care of the steam sterilizers, which use
steam, air supply, vacuum, and water controlled valves, all of which
have rebuild kits available. I just don't see any cross reference for
Stalger in anything I have.

Also many computer feedback controlled car carburetors from the mid to
late 1980's used solenoid controlled vacuum valves and one of those
might have the same kind or size of diaphram or plunger. I bring this
up because I just bought a carb rebuild kit for a 1987 Holly
carburetor and it has several solenoid controlled rubber diaphrams and
a couple of plungers included for the rebuild.

Some of the sources we use: www.snap-tite.com/divisions/sv/index.html
Asco: www.vavlate.com Which I also notice come up doing an altavista
search for vacuum solenoid valve.

It's out of a high vacuum pump but I'm sure they just buy a standard valve
and put it inside. It's what vents the pump and seals the vacuum chamber
when shut down. Very small, the orifice is perhaps 1 mm and the plunger
piece is only about 2 mm in diameter with a 3 mm shoulder, 5 mm long.

I may yet revive the old one by polishing off the damaged end but it needs
to be REAL smooth since there is very little resilience in the material.
I'd have expected it to be rubber but it's more of a hard plastic and I
don't think that is from deterioration but by design.

Thanks.
