Got a Sony CDP-C325 here, which had a warped floating lens assy on the
optical block. Anyway, I was noticing the servo PCB underneath has no
adjustments for E-F balance or Focus offset etc. There are 3 small pots
on the block itself but one is the laser power and I absolutely don't
want to tweak that one. This new block takes a bit to track in but then
plays okay after that. I want to adjust the E-F to get it optimal.
Anyone know which ones are which?
Also, it seems that I have been asking a lot of Sony Optical block
questions here lately and I don't want everyone to start thinking im a
leech (hope Im not too late!! :-0 ) I try and contribute when I can
though.
Anyway, In the past when I have ordered Sony service manuals to answer
these questions, I had to pay $30 for one picture, then it sat in my
files without ever being used again.
I have a really small shop here (just me) in a small town, I can't
realistically charge any more than $30/hour either, it does't seem to go
over well here. People would rather throw it away. I really have a
problem with the idea of filling the city dump with plastic however.
This newsgroup is a terrific source of info for people like me that are
isolated from the rest of the world, and combined with Dejanews, it is
incredible. Thanks to everyone here! Especially Sam's FAQ.
