Hi everyone, I have been scavenging again and I rescued this Telequipment
D83 Oscilloscope from the local dump. It seems to work OK but the trace is
overbright. With the intensity right down It's still far too bright. I have
checked the 10k lin pot inside and a 10k half watt resistor connecting one
end of the track to ground and these are OK . Is there a sub bright skeleton
preset somewhere? could anyone help with a circuit?.
Many thanks for any response.
RR

I would check all of the resistors in the tube network involving the focus,
astigmatism, and brightness controls. Also check the cathode supply. This
may have failed, making the brightness control useless. Be careful when
checking, it may be high voltage. I repaired an old valve type once where
the cathode was -1.3kv and the anode was +8.5kv.
