Hi all,

What's the difference between wave soldering & reflow soldering? Thanks in
advance.

Wave soldering: the board with the throughhole components is moved over
a "wave" of tin. you have one open container with liquid tin, which
flows over a barrier to a second container, driven by a pump. all holes
get full with tin.

reflow soldering: mainly used for SMD components. all pads receive a bit
of a special tin pastery. then the components are placed an the board
goes through a reflow oven. (which not only heats the board, but applies
a per-board specialized temperature curve)

hope this helps,
leo
