Can anyone out there please provide me with a
pspice model (I am running protel's simulator)
for a quartz crystal in the range 12MHz to
16MHz.

I have read a few articles on CREATING a model
but they are very strongly mathematically based
and don't actually provide a model! I don't
have the time or mathematical background to
wade through it - surely someone has already
done it!

Please email replies to eng...@interact.net.au

Thankyou,

Owen Hann.

In article <345E7B...@interact.net.au>, engdev
<eng...@interact.net.au> writes
Depending on what simulation you wish to perform I would recommend
simulating the crystal with the equivilent circuit at the resonant
condition you require (a 30 pf "parallel" crystal at 10 Mhz could be
represented by -30pF in series with 50ohms and shunted by 7pF) and
plotting the real part of the negative resistance presented to the
crystal. This will give you information on the frequency range over
which the crystal can be expected to oscilate and how much activity the
maintaining circuit has in hand.

Owen,

The following is 10MHz, so you will need to tune it to your required
frequency....

*Microprocessor Crystal pkg:HU-49/UA
.SUBCKT X10.000MHZ 1 2
LX 1 3 557.0423U IC=0.5M
CX 3 4 454.7284FF
C0 1 2 30PF
RS 4 2 35
.ENDS X10.000MHZ

Best Regards,
Duncan
