It's a customized DSP with fixed code for bandpassfilters, delay and other
sound effects.
the "programmer" is only allowed to set filterparameters. but therefore i
need a datasheet of this processor.

thanx a lot

What you want to do is - in effect - reprogram it. The fixed code is almost
certainly mask-programmed into read-only memory at manufacture, so that this
is impracticable.

If you want to play with this sort of toy buy a digital signal processor
development system from Texas Instruments

www.ti.com

or - probably better - Analog Devices

www.analog.com

My impression is that Texas Instruments have a wider range of parts, and
offer more bang for the buck if you buy or build in volume, but that for
one-off's the Analog Devices parts are easier to use and program. I've
looked into using them for various small-volume projects from time to time,
and we even bought an Analog Devices development system once, but I've never
had the chance to get my hands dirty, so my advice isn't too reliable.

You should be able to get the data sheet and a relevant application notes
from the Texas Instruments web site. I agree with the other poster that if
you are doing FIR filters and the like from scratch, Analog devices makes a
much easier to program group of processors.

thanx !
i programmed dsp over the last years but now i have a board with this chip
on it - i'm not able to reprogramm the device, but
i need the dataset for correct setting the filter params etc.
TI has no datasheet because they say the chip is obsolete and therefore i
need information/datasheet for this
low cost chip.

I checked before I posted and there is nothing for the TMS57002 - I
imagine that it is obsolete.

That's comforting - my own impressions were mostly second-hand.
