So Flyguy is not only a deluded idiot, but also a dangerous deluded lunatic. Apparently the process of getting a concealed carry permit doesn't include any test of rationality. How could it? If you own a gun, the person it is most likely to kill is you (by suicide) so no sane person would expose themselves to that risk in the hope of being able to protect themselves from some much less likely risk.

I played field hockey for about fifty years. As I got older and less able to run fast I tended to end up playing goalee - you know, the player that the opposition forwards hit the ball at. They are actually aiming at the goal the goalee is there to protect, but they mostly don't get the time to hit the ball into the gap between the goalee and the goal. It's not a position that nervous people like.

There was a Texas case where a mother shot her son, but got off on the grounds that she though that he was her estranged husband. It could be that US military intelligence targeted the wrong house, but it's just as likely that El Qaeda lied about the effectiveness of the strike and the people actually killed.

The question isn't whether seven children got killed by a US drone strike - not that we can have much confidence in that claim - but whether Joe Biden was responsible.

He'd have been relying on what military intelligence told him, so his personal responsibility doesn't seem extend further than not taking advice from people who are as obviously deluded as you are.

Most of the reports seem to gloss over the point that the man who got killed could well have been delivering weapons for Al Qaeda. I'm not actually convinced that seven children ended up dead as a consequence of the drone strike. We don't have reporters on the ground in Kabul, and if Al Qaeda felt like making the kind of claim they could get away with it.

Joe Biden didn't order the drone strike - he authorised it. The authorisation won't say "kill seven children in the process". There might be a mention of a risk of civilian casualties, but US drone strikes have been killing the occasional civilian for at least a decade now so only getting excited about it now is a trifle hypocritical.
