Stupid comes closer. The blow to the economy that is damaging nascar -
and every other provider of optional goodies - was the sub-prime
mortgage crisis, which precedes Obama's presidency. He's been
struggling to revive the US economy ever since he came to power,
severely hindered by the Tea Party Republicans, who seem to see every
measure that might revive the economy as an immoral extravagance (not
to mention a potential vote-winner for the Democrats).

It's part of the entertainment industry. It keeps people amused.
What's to dislike? I stopped watching car races more than fifty years
ago, but tastes differ.

Blaming Obama for Nascar's current problems is a bit obviously silly,
but Republican election propaganda isn't aimed at intellectual
heavyweights.
