Do you know a better, cheaper smaller LM386-like IC power amplifier
bugger than these?:

Preferably:
* Less than e.g. 10 legs
* Might be heat sinkable
* Thermal protection
* Short-circuit proof
* Missing Current Limiter (MCL)
 No switch-on and off clicks "depops"
* Low quiescent power consumption e.g. 4mA
* Bridged output so big output capacitors are not needed
* Wide power supply voltage e.g 2-18V
* Widely available (for many years?)
* DIL - or no closer legs than SOIC.

My best guesses for now:

TDA7056AT 5W 9mA, 4.5-18V
http://www.digikey.dk/scripts/dksearch/dksus.dll?k=TDA7056&mnonly=0&newproducts=0&ColumnSort=0&page=1&stock=1&quantity=0&ptm=0&fid=0&pageSize=25

TDA7052AT 1W 7mA, 4.5-18V
http://www.digikey.dk/scripts/dksearch/dksus.dll?pv7=2&k=TDA7052&mnonly=0&newproducts=0&ColumnSort=0&page=1&stock=1&quantity=0&ptm=0&fid=0&pageSize=25

TDA8541 1W 9mA, 2.2-18V
http://www.digikey.dk/product-detail/en/TDA8541T%2FN1,112/568-3475-5-ND/1129428

Old one LM386 0,5W 4mA, 4-12V or 5-18V(-4)
