Hi folks, I have a problem with Orcad (Cadence) Layout Plus.
I need to insert the layout of some layers of a PCB in a MS Word
document. But I didn't find a solution. I followed these steps:
1) in the Post Process spreadsheet I enabled the wanted layers,
choosing Print Manger as output format, with the option Print/Plot
to File, and assigning a file name to the output.
2) then I click on Run Batch, choosing a Postscript printer.
The output is a postscript file for each layer, with a .ps extension.
3) with GhostView I create Encapsulated Postscript files (.eps
extension) from the previouses *.ps files, to insert them in a
Word document. The *.eps files fit well in the document with
the properly Bounding Boxes.
4) when I try to print the word document on a Postscript printer,
the result is always a blank page.

Are there other kind of solution, as export the layer in an
image format to insert it in a document ???

Thanks.

Hi,

On my pspice tips page is the method for making a print to wmf
printer. You could try that. wmf is vector format (if it starts that
way) so the end result scales well. Word will import wmf.
