I am a technical writer with a fairly solid background (undergraduate)
in physics and math. I am seeking a comprehensive, PC-based (i.e., MS
Windows or Java based) interactive tutorial on electronics. The goal
is not so much to be able to design circuits myself, as to be able to
read circuit diagrams -- from transistor level, to gate level, to
block level diagrams -- and have a pretty good understanding of what I
am looking at and how it works.

Ideally, there would be one, integrated, comprehensive tutorial
starting at the level of DC and AC circuit analysis, working up
through transistors, simple logic gates and simple analog circuits, up
through a wide variety of high level analog and digital circuits (from
amplifiers through radio receivers through a simple calculator, or
even a microprocessor).

I'd prefer a tutorial that is interactive; that is, after presenting
some information, it offers some kind of quiz to test ones knowledge.
If there is no one, integrated tutorial that covers all these, I'll
take several separate ones that cover the territory. Any
recommendations would be appreciated.

You might try this (link Below). Must admit I have never used it but I
have one book by Bishop called Understand Electronic Filters and he is
a good writer. I might look at it myself.
