His latest action to tighten bankruptcy laws at a time when the country is
sinking into a profound recession is an immoral attempt on his part to assist
the banks and the government in a land grab. His father wanted to take action
against the banks for artificially high rates of interest charged on credit
card loans. It seem the son lacks the moral character of the father.
You don't remember the landowner and the three servants: the one with one
talent had it taken away; the one with five talents got five more; the one
with ten got another ten.

(29-16) talents = a net change of 13 talents.
Interesting story. I hadn't heard it before.

A "profound recession"? There's not even negative GDP growth and you
call this a profound recession? What did you call the 81-82 recession, "The
Ultimate Economic Catastrophic Armageddon"?
You've developed an entertaining talent for hyperbole.

Hi,
If you are going to try to relate economic policies to the Bible, I
suggest that you read at least some of the Bible. The story dlj tells is
an example of how the Bible supports "trickle down" Reaganomics. Of
course you can also find contrary claims, but you gotta at least look for
them ;-)

Hi,
Another comment: besides supporting Reaganomics, I recall from a thread
several years ago that God believes that the top inccome tax rate should
be 20%, well below that desired by Dubwa or even by Reagan himself.
Unfortunately I didn't save the Biblical reference :-( Anyone out there
have it? Love to add it to the Trickle Down section of my web page :-)

Hi,
Don't we need to have a "recession" before we can sink into a "profound
recession"? (just asking). As Ed has pointed out, the US does not yet
have even a recession--but you can keep wishing ;-)
>Bush Jr said his greatest influence in life was Jesus. Yet, every single action

The only thing I can think of that does that is Social Security,
though that takes a larger percentage from the poor than the middle
class, and then shovels it to one of the richest age groups in the
nation.
That's what you meant huh? But don't you recall, Bush is trying to
change that tax so that poor people get to keep more of their money?
You forget that?

"...a profound recession"? What country do you live in that there is
a recession? A recession is defined as two negative quarters in a
row. I bet you forgot that, too.

Jim Blair doesn't understand it not smart to let Rush Limbaugh do your economic
thinking for you.
Don't forget that we experienced the worst recession in 50 years only a decade ago.

Hi,
??? I was not making any reference to what Rush says about taxes, just to
a statement in the Bible on the subject. Unfortunately, I didn't record
the chapter and verse. ANYONE out there know it??
