Well, according to the 12th edition Materials Handbook, amorphous
silica glass (Basically non-crystalline SiO2) has a density of 2.21
(g/cm cubed). Also, crystalline SiO2 (quartz) has a specific gravity of
2.65. Hope this helps!

The molar volume of quartz is 22.688 cc
cristobalite is 25.739 cc
tridymite is 26.53 cc
coesite is 20.641 cc
stishovite is 14.014 cc
All these are SiO2...

SiO2 density can vary from about 1.9 (for low density, amorphous
material)to 2.6 (quartz). The CRC gives several values for crystalline
morphs:cristobalite (2.32), lechatelierite (2.19), tridymite (2.26) and
quartz (2.64-2.66).
