Hi:
In a reaction to obtain O2, KClO3-NaCl, was mixed with MnO2, I know
that MnO2 works like a catalyst, but what i can't find is the reason why
we added NaCl, is this also a catalyst?. Thanx for helping

Is it a flux? Is it an inert diluent to increase surface area of
interaction and aid venting of gas? Is it a cookbook addtive with o
funtion at all? Does it react? Would KCl work as well? Sand?

Have you consdiered experimentation to answer your own question?
