One experiment I performed was to mould a hollow cube around 100mm -
100mm - 100mm and inside I placed a small toy and shut the box. I then
placed the box in a large container full of warm water and increased
the temperature until the box disappeared and I removed the toy. I
then boiled off the water and was left with my box! The only
difference was that the vertices were smoothed rather than rough (I'm
not very good at moulding yet) I have looked for this plastic on the
net and asked my Chemistry Lecturer but I cant find any instances of
it. Can anyone tell me whether it has already been created or have I
stumbled apon something amazing???

A preliminary patent is about $75, and offers some protection for a year.
It should be followed with a full patent application. See your patent
attorney.
Some of your claims below are not making sense. If something dissolves
completely, then it will lose its original shape. It is not likely to
spring back into anything. You may have hydrated it and changed its
refractive index, making it invisible in water, and it might have melted a
bit softening the edges, but it didn't dissolve completely. If you can
legitimately violate these statements, then you are well on the way to being
able to patent something.

I find it impossible to believe that an object enclosed on 6 sides by
a box of the "magic" plastic can be removed without the box being
severly put out of shape; whatever the mechanism of the water-plastic
interaction.

of applications out there

If you put your fish in a Taylor-Couette apparatus,
maybe you could get them back.
Do I recall that fullerenes have this kind of property - i.e. you can
dissolve them (in carbon disulphide?) and they recrystallise out as
fullerenes.
