Hi all,

I was wondering about how temperature induces EM radiations in black
bodies, at the atomic level,
my understanding is that thermal radiations are generated due to the
movement of charged particles in atoms, which
generate heat, it would be much appreciated if someone could provide a
more detailed explanation of how this process
works internally.

Thanks

... *not* at the atomic level, as these will only approximate black
body spectra in terms of power, but will instead carry the unique
orbital emissions.

Molecular clusters are also important. Molecules have permanent and
inducible dipole moments that are required for the calculation of
transition dipole moments but so do molecular clusters. That is why
large masses of symmetric molecules like N2 with no permanent or
inducible dipole moment have "grey body" spectra.

Any accelerated charge radiates energy.

But quadrapole moments do they have.
