Hi I was wondering if there is any database for organic chemistry on the
web or the internet that allows for the searching of physical properties
of organic chemical compounds , (e.g. melting pt. , boiling point, density,
Molecular weight, etc. ) that has the accuracy of aldrich and CRC
handbook of organic chem ? If not, would anyone be willing to compile one ?
I would be willing to help bring together people and resources tio get
the project started..

There is an online organic chemistry database brought to you by the people
who make ChemDraw, CambridgeSoft. I saw an article on it in a MacWorld of
the last two or three months, and I don't know if it's completely up and
running yet. I was unable to get onto it just now, no DNS entry. I tried
again and succeeded.

Schi,

There are a few databases on the web with varying
capabilities/information. Unfortunately, it is difficult at this time to
put a large searchable database out onto the web, and still have
reasonable searching rates.

Check out http://chemfinder.camsoft.com

This is a moderate sized database which allows substructure and text
searching. Many of the compounds are linked with MSDS information at
another web site. We also include links to other chemical database web
sites.
