Dear Netters:

Are there any books or information systems that

1) who produce what and how much?
2) how much amount of certain chemicals is exported (or imported) from
one region(country) to another place?

Plz let me know if there data are available.

Thanx in advance...

Question #1: Yes and No. ChemSources will tell you you produces what.
However, sometime the compounds are list by their common names or by the
companies naming convention. Amounts would be disclosing key market
information and no smart company would disclose that specifically. There
are ways to get general information on quantities from the SRI Monographs
on manufacturing economics. Also the CMA would have information about each
speciality chemical area.

Question #2: I would again check with the Chemical Manufacturing
Association. There is a listing of imports and export weekly in the
chemcial marketing reporter. Also the import/export amounts are available
as public information for the commerce dept or port authority.

If you are looking for a specific chemical from a specific company try
reading their annual report or checking with the local EPA for material
dissclosure information.

Good Luck,
Scott
