On examing Ag2S, I found some Ag2SO4. Is it possible for Ag2S to be
oxidized to Ag2SO4 at RT, atomsphere O2 and so on (from the standard
electro potential this seems impossible)? Can anybody
tell me where I can get more information about this?
Thanks!

Our database has the following:

species \Delta G_f(298.15) (kJ/mol)

Ag2S -40.524
Ag2SO4 -618.3

Thus, the thermodynamics indicates that the reaction Ag2S + 2 O2 =
Ag2SO4 will go to the right if there is sufficient O2 available.
