Here's something you don't see every day. It's been done with a video
camera many times but he used a still camera! The two spacecraft crossed
the Sun in less than a second. He must have got the tracking data from
NASA to know exactly when it would happen. Even so, how do you take a
still picture that precisely? Maybe he controlled the shutter with a
computer which had it's internal clock syncronized to a universal time
standard like the Naval Observatory. In any case, an amazing feat.

In that case he could hardly miss getting the two spacecraft in at least
one of the frames. That's almost like using a video camera. It's still a
neat picture.
