I saw a Bausch & Lomb telescope at a local department store. All the box
said was it had a 4.5" reflector and 2 1.25" lenses. The model number was
78-0200. Has anyone seen or heard anything about this telescope? The list
price was $449 and there was a 25% sale discount. Any advice will greatly
appreciated.

A classic "department store trash telescope". If you have a barge pole
conveniently to hand, avoid this telescope like you would the
aforementioned pole.

If you want a good beginner's telescope, go for a 6" Dob - you won't
find these in (many) shops; buy a copy of "Astronomy" or "Sky and
Telescope" magazine, and look at the adverts. Meade, Celestron, and
Orion all make good 6" Dobs which are about the same price as the B&L,
but hugely better.
