How is 2D even possible?

Even at the Planck scale, there is a 3rd D. When you project an image on a screen, it's about as 2D as it gets, but there are still photons as particles hitting the wall at any given time, so the image is 3D even if 1 of the D's is the thickness of a fundamental particle.

2D is just a valuable representation of physical objects and their motion, so whether 2D is called a dimension, a graphic, or a cartoon is incidental. The 'Planets Today' website is a valuable tool this way for describing the changing relationships of planets to each other-

The 2D to 3D to the 4D endeavour was a Victorian indulgence which surfaced as a science fantasy narrative in the 19th century-

" ‘Now, it is very remarkable that this is so extensively overlooked,’ continued the Time Traveller, with a slight accession of cheerfulness. ‘Really this is what is meant by the Fourth Dimension, though some people who talk about the Fourth Dimension do not know they mean it. It is only another way of looking at Time. There is no difference between time and any of the three dimensions of space" H.G. Wells, The Time Machine. 1898.

As for Planck length, that was covered decades ago, and the theorist disappeared and never was seen again, at least as far as I could see-

Natural phenomena are represented by a balance between order/disorder rather than the idea of quantum yes/no, alive/dead or variations on that theme.

It is what makes our planet so different and gorgeous in all its forms-

Your rotating celestial sphere is 2D so being trapped inside this cartoon framework is a living nightmare for those who use it to describe solar system structure and planetary motion-

People lack the common sense to know the limitations of the clockwork solar system and RA/Dec and that is the best that can said of you and other contributors to this forum.
