A few weeks ago I signed up for an astromart account. Few days later I tried
to sign into my account and I saw a message that said I have been banned. I
figured it must be a mistake, I haven't done anything with my account. So I
emailed support and explained I can't log onto astromart because it said I
have been banned. It took about 3 email messages until I finally got a
response back. Quote, "we do not accept people that are known liars and use
aliases" Herb York. I know Herb visits sci.astro.amateur and hates my humor
and mistakes it for serious evil. He foolishly thinks since I tell practical
jokes like I am blind and I use sock puppets that means I am going to abuse
astromart and commit fraud or something. Most of my actions on saa is
nothing more but an act to bring joy and humor to saa readers. Trading on
Astromart and Ebay is serious and fraud is a felony that in no way shape or
form do I find funny and wish to commit. If you think trolling leads to
fraud I hear the city hall is passing out brains. Please stop by and pick
one up.

Ever hear of Howard Stern or Mancow? Mancow is my favorite radio personality
(troll) www.mancow.com . I listen to him every morning without fail. He has
inspired many of my trolls and sock puppet characters. Anyway one time he
reported that Ozzy Osborne died of a heart attack. I was stunned! No not
Ozzy. With a tear in my eye I loaded my Ozzy CDs in my player and cranked
it. As I heard Crazy Train and No More Tears I got more tears and shouted I
WILL MISS YOU OZZY, ROCK ON. I spent the whole day in grief. The next day I
tuned back to Mancow and he said Ozzy is alive and well and I got you ha ha.
Instead of being angry like 99% of you would be. I took it as it was meant
to be taken as a joked and laughed. Even though the day before was a grief
filled hell I have intelligence enough to take it as a joke and laugh. Yes
it was genuinely funny and I enjoyed it because I am not a coke bottle
glasses wearing over serious liberal nerd.

Mancow talks about controversial topics that pushes people's buttons similar
as I do on saa. I personally like it when he insults retards. He also uses
sock puppets to trick people especially with crank calls.

All of this is a harmless act nothing more same with me. In real life he is
a different person. Yes I have met Mancow in person. Would I confuse his
radio act for reality and refuse to do business with him? Of course not. I
have something called a brain and understand the difference between a stupid
radio show and real life. Mancow himself have said he has had problems with
people confusing him with his radio personality. This has caused him some
trouble. Same with me. It isn't my fault that people are stupid. However I
can educate them. Hell I make stupid post but that is an act and not me.
Unfortunately Herb York can't comprehend stupid trolling humor and labels
them as lies instead of acting and aliases instead of sock puppets. I bet he
would get mad and offended if I did Stephen Hawking impersonations that
maybe considered poor taste. Hell I would think it would be funny because I
enjoy life. I have fun and I always smile.

Dealing with people on Astromart however is a serious matter and there is
nothing funny about it. I know people who have been victims of fraud and I
have as well. I take transactions seriously and I have been involved with
several successful transactions before astromart required personal
information so they can discriminate against people. That's right I am being
decimated against because I am a troll. That is no different then
discriminating people due to race, religion or financial success. It is
wrong period. Herb has indirectly accused me of fraud without any thing
pointing to that accusation. He has banned me from astromart without me
doing anything right or wrong. He has my real name, email, phone # and
street address what the hell am I going to do that is "evil"? I urge all of
you to boycott Astromart until Herb York stops looking at life through coke
bottle thick glasses and grants me an account. After all if he abuses his
power with me you could be next.

Since I can't sell on astromart I have complete set of Real Sky CDs both
north and south. I am asking $200 for both or best offer. If you don't trust
me because I am a troll (how evil, get real!) I will send you the CDs first
and after you get them you can send me the money. I am also looking for an
OIII filter. 1 1/4 size. If you have one you want to sell let me know. No
Troll.

Shawn the saa troll, in real life the nicest most honest person you will
meet. Learn the difference damn it!

Nice One Mr. Grant,
Your sig in the start of this troll was: "the kindest, nicest
person...."etc.
I am going to guess, that along with being inaccurate, you have (in your
own estimation) an inadequately sized male member. Unlike the late, lameted
Pinochio, lies and fabrications (trolls may be included) probably will not
relieve your personal sense of inadequacy.
If you were not such a loser, you would have trolled with topics such as:
"Telescope Tipping", "High Beams in the Parking Lot". and " You should have
bought (built) a better telescope".
Try again, in your next life. That is, of course, if you get one.

Please note:

Humor requires at least two people.

thus:

Laughing at yourself does not qualify as humor.

and remember:

And those laughing at you rather than with you do not qualify.

and thus:

Shawn G. neither sense nor a sense of humor.

But anyway, I just got a private Email from Herb York telling me that the reall
reason he kicked Shawn off Astromart was that someone using Shawn's name tried
to post this want ad:

------------------------------------------
Wanted/Trade:

Shawn Grant
Knocksville, Tennessee

I am looking for a Refractor of any type, APO, ED or Achromat. Size not
important. I will trade a 13.1 inch Coulter Dobsonian for any refractor. I am
tired of coma, astigmatism, poor collimation and ready for widefields of sharp
pinpoint stars. Mirror needs cleaning unfortunately as I defecated on it in a
foolish challenge to S.A.A. refractor owners. However I am now reformed and a
true believer.
---------------------

Herb told me he thought this could not be the real Shawn Grant, it had to an
imposter and so he bounced him. I pointed out to Herb that he missed the clue
about the mirror needing to be cleaned, this clearly identifies Shawn as the
actual author..

Hmmmmm, I think there is a flaw in this logic. After all, if Shawn's
intention was to commit fraud, surely he would log on with a bogus identity
(and we all know that he's well qualified in that department <g>)? Yet he
set up an account in his own name...

If Herb York was smart, he would have allowed Shawn an account and
monitored closely if he was at all suspicious of any _potential_ wrong
doings. By banning Shawn, he can now use a bogus identity and Astromart
will be none the wiser.

There is something funny about it, you know. I typed "SUCK BIG TIME"
in the search box on the Astromart site, and the first result concerned
small refractors. Try it for yourself...

You have made the best point ever in this user group. However I would never
give Astromart false information. It is wrong and against the law. Trolling
on usernet is not wrong or illegal. I have never trolled to con people out
of money. All I have done is supplied humor some like it
http://website.lineone.net/~galileo.galilei/grant.html and some don't. Those
who don't learn to use your killfile. There is a huge difference between
the two and people need to learn that.

Think again http://website.lineone.net/~galileo.galilei/grant.html I also
go to star party after star party and meet plenty of people who love my
trolling. By some who have seen my trolling and like it I am sometimes
treated like a celeberty. I have met some angry people though. I guess that
is no different then Howard Stern or Mancow. Granted like all humor there
are many who hate it. Use your killfiles.

Falsely telling us people are dead is despicable! There is no humor in that

Unless of course you are one of herbs competitors.
If I pay $1400 a year, allow him you edit my ads and force my customers to
process their response to my ads through herbs server (including private info),
and allow him access to my computer, I guess that rules.

Damn you! I emailed that to Herb York telling him I never posted that ad.

I guess it was funny. But I am embarrassed about falling for it. Hey you can
get one over on me and I enjoy it. I was mad only because I fell for it but
once the truth was revealed the anger went away and it instantly became
funny. See folks I can take a joke. But being banned from astromart is no
joke. I genuinely wish to trade a little on astromart. You may say what goes
around comes around. Since I only play jokes the only thing that should come
around is jokes to fool me such as what Jon Isaacs did. Being banned from
astromart is not what comes around. It is harsh.

Gary,

I read the privacy policy. Your "allow him access to my computer" sounds
much worse than the reality, as far as I can see. I rarely sell or buy, but
I find Astromart quite useful on occasion and appreciate having it
available. You would certainly be welcome to start up your own classifieds,
and would be free to correct whatever defects you feel are inherent in
Astromart.

Why, to bother Herb York to further one of your silly ass pranks?

I still don't believe you, and even if it is true, I don't really
care. You deserve it. If Herb did ban you, I think that is
his right, and I would likely do the same thing in his place.

You can't be trusted - you have pretty much zero credibility,
and you are disliked by many. You brought this on yourself,
and if you don't want to take responsibility for the consequences
of your actions, don't expect anyone else to care.

You think Usenet news isn't the real world? It's part of it,
whether you like it or not, and you are now finding out just how
real it can be. You say that in real life, you are one of the
most trustworthy guys around; I consider Usenet to be part of
real life, and that is the only way I know you.

You say you don't do any harm, you are just trying to be funny.
Frankly, this isn't sci.astro.amateur.comedy, you have your fun at
others expense, and you just aren't all that funny. You don't
like what is happening now? Fine. You didn't seem to mind when
others expressed dislike of your foolish antics. Why should any
of us give a damn now?

Frankly, I have you kill-filed, and I would never see anything
from you except for others responding to your idiotic posts and
quoting you. Please don't bother to email me again - I don't
really care what you have to say. I have been on Usenet for
the past 12 years or so, and I have little use for dumbass trolls.

If your current problem has any consequence at all in my life, it is
to bring a bit of pleasure at seeing an annoying troll take a little
abuse in the "real world" for his actions. You are nothing to me but
a line in my kill-file (along with the other net loons such as
Nancy Leider and Daniel Min) and an occasional annoying quote in
somebody else's post on sci.astro.amateur.

The spelling is a clue but not because of what you quoted. Your
spelling and grammar are at about a second grade level and since there
weren't any other misspellings it obviously couldn't be you. If you can
read it without having to work a little to figure out what he's saying

But, as one of your sick jokes, you could advertise something for sale,
or respond to a for sale ad, then at the end say you've changed your mind.
People might not directly lose money, but they might lose out on buying a
legitimate item, or might lose a sell because of time wasted with you.

Given your proven nature on this newsgroup, I think Herb made the best
logical choice, of not taking a chance. Especially since if something
illegal did happen, Herb might share some liability given that he already
knew of your previous deceptions.

Good luck with your choices in life.

First, "access to" your computer is obviously an exaggeration.

2dly, everyone's responses go through the a-mart server -- this is the
whole point in trying to have a place where people feel safe to trade
in expensive equipment.

Finally, why keep paying the price if you feel this strongly that it's
unfair to you? I hate to keep coming off like Herb's shill, or
pitbull, whatever -- but most of the time I don't get the complaints
and this time even less so. You don't *have* to use the place; as an
ATWB competitor why, especially, would you need to?

well said! ... moreover, it is Shawn's unpredictability that is a
core issue and that 'Shawn may not even be able to predict or control himself '
(and so he tries to control others leading to excess)? That is the core issue at
stake.

Disorganisation and Intelligence are not synonymous or even
coindicative. I have detected a lot of disorganisation in Shawn's
realm! Disorganisation he himself cannot recover from once
started. And its included in his writings and the way he stacks
phrases & thoughts. It is sometimes funny, on the other hand alarming.

In neither case is it essential to our survival especailly if forced
by Shawn to make the choice!

Sorry Shawn. We don't need no bananas today! (or Kings either).

But I have been dying to say this since the beginning and this seems a fit time -

Dear Shawn-unit: You may have picked the wrong foe! Only
you can know. And the fact you've recycled here (endlessly)
seems to indicate a personal block you are encountering unless
the recycling istelf is but a ploy in which case you are not half
as smart as you (or I) think you are!! The true test for you
would be in pitting your skills against a worthy opponent,
Nature istelf. And either conquoring your own internal demons
or finding some real scientific breakthrough as you pit your wits against Nature
istelf. And leave the human world alone! If you
have advantaged (won out against) the social world as easily as
you think you ave try it against some problem in Nature, in
physics, math, or astronomy. In that we would all rejoice in
the victory especially if this is what you were after all along.

But what do I know!
Oooooooooooooovey!
