Extract -
The fact that vocal and nonvocal communication have common origins in
the brain in monkeys could support the notion that both co-evolved "to
support the human faculties of language and music," he added. "This
also provides evolutionary support for the gestural theory of
communication, which proposes that human speech and language developed
from gestures and hand actions. We provide the functional link between
gestural communication and vocal communication by identifying brain
areas activated by sounds associated with gestures and vocalizations."

There's a problem with this. Humans and dogs understand instinctivley
what is meant by pointing at something. Cats and chimpanzees do not.
If chimps (and monkeys and apes in general) do not understand pointing
behavior, how can their gestures support any sort of linguistic
theory?

And what does this have to do with archaeology?

The story comes from the website of Archaeological Institute
of America and that should satisfy you.

It doesn't. Animal behavior is, at best, somewhat
related to human behavior, and therefore, anthropology.

Just because others are unable to differentiate....
Oh, but wait, sorry, forgot who I was replying to.

Yahoo.com is not "the website of Archaeological Institute of America."
You're a liar, in addition to being an an idiot and an asshole.

And the article comes not from he website of Archaeological Institute
of America and is not even based on an article from the website of
Archaeological Institute of America, but from LiveScience and is based
on an article in PNAS, under the subject Neuroscience, by authors
affiliated with the Max-Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics end
the Division of Imaging Science and Biomedical Engineering, University
of Manchester.

That is Carl's "World of Archaeology"

"Archaeological Headlines

Monday, October 19
by Jessica E. Saraceni'

"Scientists are studying vocal and non-vocal communication in
primates, which have common origins in the brain in monkeys. 'Monkeys
respond to drumming sounds as they would to vocalizations,' said
neuroscientist Christoph Kayser of the Max Planck Institute for
Biological Cybernetics. Human language and music may have evolved from
such vocal and non-vocal communications."

Further, on sci.arch I have always brought anthropology
news.

Serious request -
review in your own mind whether I have been
trolling. Consider whether it is just news.

It is not archaeology and you are a fucking liar, so go fuck yourself.

But that's not what you posted. Did you even bother to read it? No,
probably not. Do you think that nobody would notice that you changed
to a different article? Do you really think everyone is as stupid as
you are? No wonder you have no friends.

It is anthropology. Further, I told the truth and
you are spreading lies.

It's time for you to reform yourself because
what goes around, comes around.

Trying to duck the fact that you lied? Yes you are!
Trying to duck the fact that your post was not about archaeology? Yes
you are!

Monkeys pounding on a keyboard would be more honest that you. Smarter,
too.
