Florida Marine Fish?

I am going to Northern Florida (the Destin / Panama City area) in a
few weeks and I would like to catch and bring back a few fish and
inverts for my tank. Does anyone know what types of marine life I
might find there and where I might find them? I spoke to the Florida
Fish and Wildlife and they said all I need to do is have a live well
and a license to hand catch fish. They have other good information at
this site. http://www.marinefisheries.org/
The lady that sells the license told me of a State Park near Panama
City called Saint Andrews /Shell Island. She said it was OK to
collect fish there. I had always heard that state parks were
protected and off limits to fishing and collectors. She even said
that you can find seahorses there and that they were "really cool when
you dry them out" Kinda goes against my grain. Does anyone know if
that is accurate? I don't plan on adding that to my trip unless it is
approved and legal.

Thanks,

Ralph

There are several good guides to the fishes of Florida, and you might want
to try and get a copy of my favorite: Reef Fish by Paul Humann. It covers
not only Florida, but the whole Caribbean. However, it does point out which
fishes are found in that region. There are also many books out there just on
that region. You might try Amazon.com for a list of titles.
As to the sea horse thing, that park person should be dried out! H. erectus
is probably the species you'd collect there, although I _THINK_ H. redi is
also found there. Both are relatively easy to maintain in captivity, and
will learn to take frozen mysis quite easily.
