February is Black History Month and as always we are treated to “awesome”
tidbits of black history like the first black man to tie his shoes or the
first black women to use a spatula. It is really quite lame, but soon
there will be a whole museum dedicated to this kind of stuff. The National
Museum of African American History and Culture will open on the National
Mall in Washington DC this fall and word is that one of the key items that
will be displayed is a piece of wood. No joke. A piece of wood.
For those of you unfamiliar with DC, the National Mall is that long park
that runs between the Capitol Building and the Lincoln Memorial. It
includes the Washington Monument, the Reflecting Pools, and the Vietnam
War, Korean War, and WWII memorials. Along the sides of the Mall are the
museums of the Smithsonian like the Air and Space Museum, the Museum of
Natural History, and the Museum of American History.
Come September, wedged among these great institutions, the National Museum
of African American History and Culture will be dedicated by none other
than President Obama. The museum plans on displaying “artifacts” from the
Black Lives Matter movement as well as other pieces from anti-white
activism.
The centerpiece of the museum however appears to be a piece of wood.
Lonnie Bunch, the founding director of the museum, explained the
importance of the wood to The Atlanta Blackstar:
One artifact that resonated with Bunch was a piece of wood once touched by
enslaved Africans.
“I am still overwhelmed by the piece of wood that we brought up from a
slave ship off the coast of South Africa. The tribal chieftain from that
community told me that when you go back to where that ship is, if you
could take soil from Mozambique, where most of the people came from, and
if you could sprinkle that soil over the ship, then for the first time
since 1794, our people will sleep in their own land,” said Bunch.
Bunch said they sprinkled the soil over the ship and felt the power of the
ancestors.
What, is this some kind of magic voodoo wood? And what exactly is the
“power” Bunch felt from it? The power of the tribal chieftains selling
their own people into slavery?
You can make up any kind of story you want about a piece of wood; it’s
still just a piece of wood. If they would have salvaged the entire ship
and displayed that, it would actually be something interesting to see, but
this? Come on.
If you are planning a trip to DC this fall, after you check out the
dinosaur bones, the flag that inspired the Star Spangled Banner, and the
Apollo 11 Command Module, head on over to the African American History and
Culture Museum to see a piece of wood.

When I first seen a picture like that as a kid in National Geographic it
freaked me out. Still does kinda. Odd that no blacks over here adopt that
black culture.

How about the CHAINS the Africants used to hold their own people captive
with, until they SOLD them? They were FORGED from good old Africant steel

It is not only in ancient history where these “black history” myths are
propagated. Every February, the public is treated to a large number of
claims about “black inventions” as well.
The most prominent of these claims are briefly discussed hereunder.
Myth 1: Filament for light bulb.
The claim: Lewis Latimer invented the carbon filament in 1881 or 1882.
The truth: English chemist/physicist Joseph Swan experimented with a
carbon-filament incandescent light in 1860, and by 1878 had developed a
better design which he patented in Britain.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Thomas Edison developed a successful
carbon-filament bulb, receiving a patent for it (#223898) in January 1880.
From 1880 onward, countless patents were issued for innovations in
