Francesca gave a very full & scholarly account of the Miocene apes, which are largely characterised by remarkably wet & wooded habitats indicating that the LCA of all the great apes was likely to have been more (please note that relative term) aquatic in the past, as Sir Alister Hardy suggested 62 years ago, and Elaine Morgan & others have worked so hard to promote for so long. You never know, one day, a few actual professional biological anthropologists might start to respond to these ideas with something other than their usual hostility & “venom”, as Sir David Attenborough put it.
