No--however, if you are nude when you do it--you would probably be
arrested related to nudity laws.

I forgot to mention being nude.

But tell me.

If it isn't sinful except in strip bars and brothels.

Why should I be arrested for being nude in the street?

Good question--mainly because it is against the law but I believe the more
important reason is because it is offensive to most people which is
probably the reason for the laws against being nude in public.

So explain those places were it is LEGAL to be nude in
public, like Spain and Germany and Oregon. Explain all the
nude fun runs and nude bike rides on the West Coast. Then
explain how Spencer Tunick has made a living conducting and
then photographing mass rallies of naked people all over the
world.

You are correct. It does happen in those countries. It does not mean it's
a great idea. We have nude beaches in California.

I've done a bit of digging on state laws regarding nudity.

Most laws actually relate to exposing one's genetalia (and with women
the nipples) with intent to arouse oneself, or another, without regard
to the fact that others may be upset of offended.

I've found nothing yet about actually being naked as you walk down the
street being against the law.

So it seems to me, it isn't nudity or being naked which is the
problem. It's whether other people are offended by someone being
naked.

If I'm wrong on my initial examination of said laws I would be happy
to hear from those more familiar with the law.

Actually, it gets boring quite quickly. Nudity is only shocking
and/or offensive because it is so rare in the first place. Spend
a week at a nudist camp, and I guarantee you that by day four you
won't give those exposed body parts a second glance. There would
be nothing fascinating, ogle-worthy or sexually alluring about a
single boobie swinging freely in the breeze.

Shame and eroticism come from covering up, not from undressing.

It's my understanding that most cities have laws against being nude in
public. If I saw a nude man walking down the street, I would call 911.

9-1-1 is for emergencies. Do you seriously think a nude person walking
down a street is an emergency?

I've already stated what I have found.

And all you offer is your "understanding".

Care to cite a law that says it is a crime to walk naked down a street?

Well, one possibility, though with an extra twist, is the guy who did
"Kony 2012". He was walking (among other things) nude in his
neighborhood. The 'other things' he was doing included prancing around,
yelling and singing, and appearing to be nuts. (In addition to his nuts
appearing.)

The cops were called, and it was an emergency. But not so much because
he was naked, but because he appeared to be nuts. (In addition to
his...oh, I wrote that already. Sorry.)

So it was an emergency partly because of his funny walk. I suspect I
know the department to which he was then directed. :-)

I don't live in your country, in the UK there is no law against being
nude in public

Simple nudity is not illegal.

However, using nudity to "harass, alarm or distress" others is an
offence against the Public Order Act of 1986.

Thanks for explaining where you live. If you walked down the street NAKED
in most cities America--you would be arrested. There are nude beaches
where it would be OK to be nude. Google "Pirate's Cove, California". It's
a nude beach. It's also OK to be nude in nudest colonies.

And yet you cannot come up with a single law in which it states that
in your country it is a crime to walk naked down the street.

1) What laws "complict" with the Bible?

2) If an activity is not banned by the Bible
or even civil laws what makes it "sinful"?

Maine Voters Give Women Ok To Mow While Topless
November 5, 1998

NEWPORT, Maine - One woman wanted to mow her lawn
topless. Her neighbor doesn't like it. Solution:
Let the voters decide. With a vote Tuesday of 775-283,
Newport residents nixed plans for an ordinance to
punish women for displaying their breasts in public.
The law in Maine prohibits the display of genitalia or
the committing of sexual acts in public. But Town Manager
Kenneth Knight noted that breasts are not genitalia,
and lawn mowing not a sexual act. No crime here, he
reasoned.

Violation of a regulation does not make it sinful. You keep dancing
around it but here is anothe chance for you to eithe redeem yourself
or look like the fool you are again.

Why is walking down the street naked sinful?

How is noncompliance with a law, e.g., speeding a sin?

BTW. 'Speeding" as in my example, walking nude on the street as in
yours IS in the bible.

Try reading that collection of myths and you will find it.

hate what they say God created.

So you reckon the bible with respect to what you should and shouldn't
do is a better guide than your state and federal laws do you? The
bible contradicts itself so many times on what should and shouldn't be
done it's ridiculous.

I have not had any problems following the laws. However, nurses that are
forced to help doctors do have a conflict with the rules. If doctors are
eventually forced to do abortions--lots of doctors will also have to start
filing law suits. I googled "Christian nurses that have been forced to do
abortions" and got thousands of hits. It's a major problem. Yes, I did use
quote marks.

You have implied by your posts that such a law exists.

It's down to you to come up with the goods.

Great question. I looked up the word "order" in my concordance. That word
is mentioned in over 20 scriptures. I did not look up all of those
scriptures. My point is that we all should live orderly lives. If you
walked naked down a city street--it would cause disorder and that would be
sinful. Christians and Jews should be role models for their
religions--walking naked down a city street would be an example of NOT
being good role models for the Christian religion or the Jewish religion.
Therefore, it would be a sin for us to do it. God would be displeased with
us--and that means we sinned.

It's another example of American becoming more and more corrupt and evil
as time marches on. We call it a sliding slope. We are sliding downhill
very fast.

The killing of an unborn baby is a sin--as per the commandment related to

Killing people in warfare is authorized.

Even after you have defeated your enemy, and you are killing civilians?
You know that is what God had the Jews do.

would it not be a sin if you killed someone
and since you've formed the mens rea to speed knowing that it could have
that result

then it's a sin even if you haven't killed anyone because you did something
with intent that could kill

much like watching ladies nude for a married man means that it is a sin
because he hasn't committed adultery but it COULD lead to adultery so it's a
sin, right

so Jason remember not to speed ok

Define "baby".

Is wearing a rubber a sin?

Taking birth control pills a sin?

I dom because breast feeding involves *bodily fluids*. My mother
breast-fed my Kid Brother in public, but she put a light blanket over
his head, to be discreet. Most of the women who breastfeed in public
these days think that putting a cover over themselves is just
terrible, and claims it hurts the baby. Didn't hurt my Kid Brother
any.

Actually, abortion is prescribed in the bible for women suspected of
being unfaithful. See Numbers chapter 5, verses 11-27. In those
days, children and women were considered to be chattel of the pater
familias (if I may borrow the Roman term), and men didn't want to
support children that might not be theirs, or risk passing their
property down to them. Therefore, if a man suspected his wife of
infidelity, the priest gave her an abortifacient drink made from
"temple sweepings," which contained ergot, a very efficient
abortifacient.

Yes, but that is a exception. I was told my a police officer that taught a
traffic school class that I attended related to a speeding ticket--that it
is far safer to follow the flow of traffic than to worry about obeying
speed limit laws. For example, if the speed limit is 65 mph and everyone
is driving 75 mph--it's far safer to drive at 75 mph. If you think about
it--it makes sense. In a situation like that--cops don't usually issue any
tickets.

It's a subject that is not discussed in the Bible.

Depends what you understand by "genitalia". Breasts are not
primary reproductive organs -- that stuff happens much lower
down.

Secondly, in anatomical terms the male and female nipple are the
same -- so if a woman's nipple is deemed sexual and offensive,
then so should a male nipple.

Not to be nitpicky but the Bible DOES require all
Christians to obey all civil authorities.

Which kinda puts Christians in a conundrum when
it comes to the American Revolution..........

Romans 13:1-4, TLB. "Obey the government , for God is
the one who has put it there. There is no government
anywhere that God has not placed in power. So those who
refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey
God, and punishment will follow. For the policeman does
not frighten people who are doing right; but those doing
evil will always fear him. So if you don't want to be
afraid, keep the laws and you will get along well. The
policeman is sent by God to help you. But if you are
doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid,
for he will have you punished. He is sent by God for
that very purpose."

abortion is not in the bible either
unless you count imaginary voices that beckon people to sacrifice their
babies
If you need an abortion then just say voice from god said you had to
sacrifice it for the good of mankind

since it's in the bible it's ok

The commandment says "thou shalt not kill" nothing in that suggests
any leeway.
