The NASA Technical Report Server (NTRS) is now available
to the public. NTRS is an experimental service that
allows simultaneous searching of various NASA abstract
and technical report services.
http://techreports.larc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/NTRS
Currently, the following report/abstract servers are
available via NTRS:
- Ames Research Center - Numerical Aerodynamic Simulation Division (NAS)
- Dryden Flight Research Center
- ICASE - Institute for Computer Applications in Science and Engineering
- Langley Research Center
- RECON database - (NASA STI)
- SCAN -Selected Current Aerospace Notices - (NASA STI)
- STELAR Project - (Goddard Space Flight Center)
"Forms" support is necessary to use NTRS. If you do use
NTRS, please fill out the feedback form and share your comments
with us.
Michael Nelson
I would be grateful if anyone could recommend me a good, modern book
concerning rotorcraft stability analysis in autorotation. My purpose
is to write a stability simulation program using my Mac Quadra and
Future Basic program (which resembles C language).
I have a 40 years old book by name Aerodynamics of the Helicopter by
Gessow and Myers which I used to write an Exel program to calculate
rotorcraft performance in autorotation.
The program works well and gives fairly reliable results. I have
designed, built and flown several autogyros, so I have practical
experience of the subject. However, being so old the book is very
brief concerning stability analysis.
I belive new modern books may even include programs written for the
purpose (if not even include a disc or a CD). I would not like to
invent the wheel once again and therefore, if you know anything about
the availability of Macintosh programs for the purpose, please, let me
know.
Thanks in advance
