Also, i was thinking maybe we'd consider watching the American Film Institute's top 10 scifi movies, that might be good?  They are listed here - http://www.afi.com/10top10/scifi.html.  The fantasy movies might be good to delve into as well, I don't know how strict we plan to stick to the "scifi" theme, if fantasy counts :)
