What do you think is the hottest possible temperature that can be attained? Please mention the physical process you have in mind that can produce the highest temperatures.

The (confirmed) elementary particles till date (that make the baryonic matter) are quarks which are held together (say in a proton) due to gluons. So.. the hottest temperature that could be achieved in a lab is the temperature which creates quark-gluon plasma. Which is about 10^12 Kelvin or so.
