Age of sun is obtained from indirect evidence.
The evidence is the Earth itself.
Scientists studied the rocks, fossils and different layers of the Earth to estimate the age.
It is also known that Earth formed around sun almost at the same time as sun formed.
So, age of the Sun is just greater than the age of the Earth (which is about 4.5 billion years and this happened to be Sun's middle age.)
(Knowing the mass of the star, luminosity and other factors... we can estimate the age of the star)
