Your winning Screenplay is worth $2000!
The 2009 DC Shorts Screenwriting Competition regular deadline is May 31 — hurry and enter today!
http://dcshorts.com
The DC Shorts Screenplay Competition (October 15-18, 2009) is a very
different kind of screenwriting competition. A panel of judges
consisting of filmmakers, screenwriters and critics will review and
provide condensed coverage (feedback) for scripts of 15 pages or less.
A set of finalists (5–7) will be featured during ScriptDC — a weekend
of screenwriting events for DC regional writer and filmmakers, where
their scripts will be read in front of a live audience — and one will
walk away with $2,000 to shoot their project!
Finalists receive complimentary registration to attend ScriptDC (
http://scriptdc.com)
and, with the assistance of local directors and agents, cast a live
reading of the script from a bank of actors. Finalists will have ample
time to rehearse their table reading with optional guidance from a
theater director. The live readings will be performed in front of an
audience, who will vote on their favorite. These votes, along with the
scores of the judges, will determine a competition winner.
