The IP address used by them was 4.72.69.69 which corresponds to a
local address in Orlando, Florida :
dialup-4.72.69.69.Dial1.Orlando1.Level3.net
They hav also used an open mail server run by Belgacom, again a good
source of spam, rather than one run by their own ISP. Complaints to
Belgacom are routinely unanswered, so you may wish to mailbopmb their
servers.
To get some action and get them shut down. If you are in the US, and a
Florida resident, it would be appriciated if you got your local
representative to act within the state laws on Spam mail, and have
their organisation closed down.
Alternatively, fill a sack with your favourite junk mail (paper not
email) and send it to the address they have kindly supplied. Lets get
the bastards buried and off the map
Cheers - Neil.

You can imagine the collective network bandwidth used up by
downloading the 100+ lines for each message by millions of users. Its
a basic abuse issue and should be treated with abuse in kind.

VideoChat with friends online, get Freshly Toasted every
day at http://www.fresh-toast.net : NetMeeting solutions
for a connected world.
I use that to fight SPAM.
It takes almost no extra time off my plate by doing the following.
Set to download headers only from usenet.
Download the headers for each group of interest.
Delete all the SPAM headers.
(You can hit the delete key in Outlook to do this even though it's not on
the context menu.
Enable download full message bodies in the synchronize section.
Synchronize the newsgroup to download the full bodies.
Voila, problem solved.
The only full SPAM messages you'll ever get would be the ones that show up
in between the time you download headers and download full message bodies
which should be zero most of the time and maybe one or two on the off chance
they're posting at the same time you're synchronizing.
