Subject: Save the Date (May 25th from 4:30 - 5:30 pm) A Green Schools Webcast by the Center for Green Schools and the Florida Green School Awards Program

Save the date! “What if all schools were green?”
Who: School and school district administrators, facilities managers, teachers, and anyone interested in green school efforts in Florida
What: A webcast hosted by the Center for Green Schools (U.S. Green Building Council), and the Florida Green School Awards Program who are making sure that every student has the opportunity to attend a green school within this generation. Learn more about state and national efforts to promote green schools and how you can apply for a Florida Green School Award!
When: Wednesday, May 25th from 4:30-5:30 pm (EST).
Why: Last year, Florida’s Green School Award applicants generated a total of $5.2 million in cost savings through their initiatives (What if all schools were green?). Approximately 25 percent of the national population goes to school every day in nearly 140,000 schools, colleges and universities. Fresh and clean air improves health, daylight boosts concentration, comfortable temperatures increase focus and improved acoustics enable communication. A green school also serves as an interactive teaching tool, imparting lessons of stewardship and kinship, preparing students for life beyond its walls.
