I've got an iPhone SE (2020) and I really like it. It's actually what moved me out of Android and into the iPhone world. I listen to a lot of audiobooks at work, and actually still use my old phone. I'd prefer to have an app on my iPhone that I can send audiobooks to from my computer. I have an old Macbook that I use sometimes, but primarily PC. Would it just be easiest to put the audiobooks on my Macbook and use iTunes? I'm not sure how well iTunes works with audiobooks, the features that is. Playback, saving where you are in it, etc. Any help is appreciated.

As we live in a digital age, audiobooks have replaced printed books for many. If you're new to audiobooks, simply put, they are books that are recorded for listening. Instead of buying a physical book, you can get an audiobook and listen to it wherever you are. Audiobooks make reading quite convenient!

There was a time when audiobooks were available on CDs and DVDs. But nowadays, you can listen to audiobooks using just a smartphone or a tablet. Likewise, there are also many audiobook apps available for iOS devices. Here are some of the best audiobook apps for iPad and iPhone.

Apple has built many apps for its devices, and they are all well optimized. So, there is no better audiobook app for your iPhone or iPad than Apple Books. You can browse through a library of countless books (audiobooks and e-books) in every category.

The user interface is clean and follows the design language of Apple. The audiobooks on Apple Books are often narrated by famous actors, authors, or artists. Once you start listening to an audiobook, you'll see it in your Reading Now section.

With Apple Books, you can browse and buy books directly from the app, so you can discover new books with ease. Unfortunately, audiobooks are only available in certain countries, and therefore are not available worldwide.

Audible, Amazon's audiobook platform, has gained traction in recent years. There is no doubt that Audible is one of the best audiobook apps that you can get for your smartphone. As an Amazon product, Audible offers the largest collection of audiobooks out there, along with some exclusive content.

Audible comes integrated with the Amazon shopping app, and it has its benefits. Amazon Prime members occasionally get audiobook credits for free, as well as amazing deals on some audio content. Like Apple Books, you'll hear celebrities narrate many of these audiobooks to make it more interesting.

For those who prefer Google's services, or recently switched from an Android device, Google Play Books may be the ideal audiobook app for you. Google introduced audiobooks in 2018, and the iOS app is a great one too.

You can access all sorts of content, including e-books, audiobooks, comic books, and more. This app is available for iPhone and iPad, but you can also use it in a browser on your PC or Mac. While the catalog isn't as extensive as what you get with Audible, you do get the advantage of buying audiobooks separately without needing to subscribe.

Google Play Books offers an audiobook player with the most basic options for controlling the playback of audiobooks. You can move the playhead as you wish to go back or forward, touch the options to jump 30-second back or forward, or set a timer to stop the playback.

Kobo offers something similar to what Google Play Books offers. You have access to all digital content, such as audiobooks, e-books, comic books, and more. Additionally, it supports French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Dutch, Turkish, and more languages.

If you want the best experience for audiobooks, Audiobooks.com is the right choice for you. This app allows you to listen to over 250,000 audiobooks, with some of them available for free. The audiobooks available in this catalog include various topics, from children's books to nonfiction. You can find almost anything.

A variety of audiobook apps on the market boast interesting features like progress trackers, challenges, and large selections of books. Some of the best audiobook apps for iPhone include Apple Books, Audible, and Chirp audiobooks.

Making time for reading can be difficult, depending on your lifestyle. The Headway app is a great resource for busy individuals who want to make audiobooks a regular part of their routine while maintaining high performance in their career and family life.

On Audible, you can browse from the biggest audiobook library out there. Users can also purchase audiobooks individually or invest in an Audible subscription to receive credits each month that they can use to redeem any audiobook of their choice. Starting at just $7.95 per month, you can gain access to exclusive audio content, such as books and stories narrated by celebrities and notable authors.

Scribd claims to let you listen to as many audiobooks as you want each month, but there may occasionally be limits on the types of content you can access. However, this small flaw is overridden by several remarkable features, such as adjusting narration speed and downloading audiobooks for offline listening. The reasonable audiobook prices make this app a must-download for book lovers.

A great alternative to the Audible app, Kobo Books has a vast selection of ebooks and audiobooks to browse through. For a monthly subscription fee of $9.99, you can obtain one free audiobook of your choice. However, the app itself is free, so you can get a feel of the services before purchasing anything.

Sometimes, regular audiobooks can have long reading times, and it can be difficult for people with busy lifestyles to commit to listening to the entire track. Luckily, Headway makes it easy to get all the same knowledge from a book by condensing them into easy 15-minute audio summaries. With a book summary app, you can make it easier for yourself to kickstart your reading and personal development goals.

Audiobooks may be considered a fun pastime, but they also have several advantages for mental and physical health. For example, some benefits of listening to audiobooks include better cognition, memory enhancement, and less eye strain. Moreover, they can also help you to increase productivity levels and motivate you to engage in personality-building or career-strengthening practices. Listening to audiobooks and summaries can be a healthy addition to your daily routine.

In the finder window, I selected my phone, then selected Audiobooks. I checked "Selected audiobooks" then searched for the book I wanted to sync. I checked the box next to it and clicked sync. It looked like it synced, but the book isn't showing up on my iPhone. It does show up in Books on my Mac. This book and others are in the "Want to read" collection, but only one book shows up in the same collection on my iPhone.

Thanks, but these are audiobooks from cds that I converted to mp3 to put on my phone. I used to be able to edit them in iTunes (combine chapters into one book, add an image), but I can't do that in Books. Also, I could just drag the files to my phone. I really miss that.

I typically listen to audiobooks on PC, or via some nice audiobook apps on my android phone (which was recently stolen). I have a spare iPhone 6, and am just trying to copy over my audiobook collection, and iTunes doesn't recognize half the folders, or the tags aren't helpful, etc.

What I really want, is to get a few folders full of music files copied over to the iPhone, so I can open them with VLC, and browse by file name (or use a third party audiobook player), and skip all this nonsense involving tagging all of my music/audiobooks before I can even copy it to the phone, much less player it.

First, it sounds like you want to copy over "folders of music" or audiobooks to your device, similar to how you would with an Android phone or a music/MP3 player that just functions as a "USB mass storage device", rather than some useless protocol like MTP (or some company-specific proprietary alternative) which exists mainly to prevent small amounts of music piracy at the expense of making the device a pain to interface with.

Some of the audiobooks found on these sites don't download in a file format that the phone recognizes as an audiobook. Either convert these audiobooks to the M4B format with a file converter tool or force iTunes to make the files appear as audiobooks.

Note: I was nervous about auto syncing because I thought it might transfer all music and all audiobooks to the phone, which I definitely did not want. Am happy to report that in this case, the only audiobook synched to the phone was the one I'd already transferred.

Each hour of audiobook recording requires approximately 15 MB when you play in standard quality. Therefore, an average audiobook lasts 8-10 hours. Be prepared that ten downloaded audiobooks can get 1 GB of internal memory.

If you have tried modern-day audiobooks (the ones available for streaming or downloading, opposite to CDs), and realized you might easily become a heavy user, you should try the Audible app for iPad and iPhone.

But audiobooks are not the only thing to digest on Audible. You can find here original audio shows or short-form narratives. For instance, you can hear A-class celebrities narrating their favorite stories.

Audible lets you choose the preferred way of getting the content. You can either buy audiobooks the traditional way (one by one) or get them via one of Audible subscriptions: Audible Plus or Audible Premium Plus. A good thing about subscriptions is that you can download and enjoy audiobooks any time you want without the need to switch to a browser to complete the purchase.

After signing up, it takes just a few taps to find and borrow an ebook or audiobook. You can download audiobooks for offline use, but you can also stream them if you prefer to save space on your iPhone or iPad.
