Thanks to a partnership with Dole Packaged Foods, Captain Planet Foundation is able to offer Project Learning Garden (PLG) to elementary schools all over the country through a series of contests tied to the regions' local retailers. There are stipulations around geographic location that vary with each contest, typically schools must be within 10 miles of the retail partner. PLG is a grant program that offers schools raised beds (or a gift card to enhance existing gardens); a fully stocked and mobile kitchen cart (induction burner, Vitamix, pans, cutting boards, etc.); online teacher training; access to PLG lessons and materials to support delivery of those lessons; materials for outdoor learning (garden wagon, trowels, cones, gloves, etc.)

We currently have opportunities for schools in the following states:
DE, CT, MD, NJ, NY, PA, GA, CA, OR, AR, KS, IL, OH, MO, WI, IN, IA

Please share if you are working with schools in any of these states who could use a new or spruced garden! Many of our grantees seek this grant for the benefits added by the mobile cooking cart--it is a game changer, making food prep and cooking demos possible on site without involving the cafeteria. If you or someone you know might be interested, please reach out! I'll be happy to give more specific information about the regions and retailers we're working with. ta...@captainplanetfdn.org . Please visit our website to learn more about PLG and other complementary programs.
