San Diego Unified non credentialed contracting question

Hi Garden Educators,

Do any of you contract directly with your schools Foundation? Or 501 c3 non profit organizations?

My son’s school wants to contract with the district, and last year I had some payment delays with the district so I’m hesitant. 

Have you found a way to guarantee payment delivery dates with the district?

Or, do you have a copy of a contract you could share with me to help my Foundation have a better understanding how to we could contract directly without the district.

Hi Kira,

I have service provider agreements with my partners coming into the district for lessons (Cornell Cooperative nutrition lessons for instance) where the language includes how many lessons, which locations, how much per lesson, scope of work. Then the partner invoices us monthly. It does take a bit - 2-4 weeks for checks to go through. District business offices are more the tortoise than the hare! Let me know if you want an example of the contract I use and I can dm it to you.

Captain Planet Foundation has Project Learning Garden grants available for elementary schools (schools serving grades K-5) under funding from Delta Air Lines and Cox Enterprises.

 

Delta Air Lines Application – funding schools in Atlanta, NYC (5 boroughs), Seattle metro, Tacoma metro (attached Delta flyer)

 

Cox Enterprises Application – funding schools in Atlanta, Orange County (CA), Phoenix, San Diego (attached Cox Flyer)

 

 

Deadline is coming up January 15^th and the application is super simple to fill out. If you could distribute to your colleagues or networks it would be appreciated!
