Lower Columbia School Gardens is hiring a new Garden Coordinator to join our team and facilitate outdoor, garden-based learning with K-8 grade students in Southwest Washington state. Please see the attached job description and feel free to share with your networks.

Lower Columbia School Gardens works with more than 4,600 students in 20 school gardens in Longview and Kelso, Washington. We facilitate after-school garden clubs, garden-based learning during the school day, summer programs, cooking classes harvest festivals, special events, and we distribute thousands of pounds of garden-grown food to families in our community. Garden Coordinators work with teachers, volunteers, district administrators and most importantly, alongside K-8 youth to promote health, social connectedness, care for our environment, provide mentorship and academic support and help kids and families connect with real food and hands-on learning. 

We are looking for someone who loves working with kids outdoors, is flexible, a good communicator and who is committed to on-going examination and learning about how systemic racism, inequity, climate change and other social and environmental justice issues intersect with our work and the roles we can play as an organization to dismantle white supremacy and address the needs of those furthest from educational, environmental and racial justice.
