garden educators as contractors

Hello fellow educators -

I have worked as a garden educator for about 2 years (I am career shifting/expanding from professional residential garden design).  In keeping with my solo-preneural background I am interested in working for schools on a contract basis.  I would love to connect with others who work in this capacity to hear their experience, insights and suggestions. The IRS and several states are cracking down on what they consider are employees misclassified as independent contractors. Because you have a pre-existing garden design business, you're probably on good footing.
