Hello fellow educators -

I have worked as a garden educator for about 2 years (I am career shifting/expanding from professional residential garden design).  In keeping with my solo-preneural background I am interested in working for schools on a contract basis.  I would love to connect with others who work in this capacity to hear their experience, insights and suggestions. If anyone is willing to have a conversation or reply to emailed questions, let me know! TIA for reading this and offering assistance!

Hi Catherine,
The IRS and several states are cracking down on what they consider are employees misclassified as independent contractors. Because you have a pre-existing garden design business, you're probably on good footing.

Best of luck in your career shift.

Catherine,

If you're still interested in speaking to people, I was doing something very similar up until I was recalled to active duty in the Coast Guard over the summer.  I'm happy to speak with you if you're still interested.

I'm based in NY (Long Island) so not sure how relevant my experience will be.

Regards,
Lynn
