Virtual Leadership Series

The Children & Nature Network’s Inside-Out Leadership Series offers more virtual programs to connect, build capacity, and engage leaders in the children and nature movement.

Don't miss these Inside-Out Leadership Series workshops:

Strategic Communications Bootcamp: Children & Nature Edition

Thursday, March 30
12:00 pm -1:30 pm CST

Explore the best practices in creating inclusive messaging and effective communications to support children and nature programs. This interactive workshop is for children and nature leaders, communications staff, subject matter experts, and program staff who are involved in planning programs, executing communications plans, and crafting compelling messages for the public.

Presented by Children & Nature Network staff: Laura Mylan, Senior VP for External Relations; Kelly McManus, Creative Director; Alejandra Pallais, Communications Strategist; and Jorie Emory, Director of Network Engagement.

Thriving Together: Bridging Differences to Build a Thriving Natural World for All

Tuesday, April 27
12:00 pm - 2:00 pm CST

This interactive workshop will introduce the core components of the Thriving Together framework. Attendees will deepen their understanding of the framework through dialogue, a practice that bridges difference and builds civic muscle. Attendees will leave the workshop with a set of tools and resources to begin to explore transformational change in their organizations, communities, or networks.

Presented by Monte Roulier and Elizabeth Hartig of Community Initiatives Network

Calling young artists!

The Children & Nature Network invites kids and teens to share art, poetry, and creative writing to inspire a nature-filled future for all.

All submissions will be included in our virtual art exhibition, NatureFuture: Kids’ visions for a just and nature-filled world.

Submissions may include paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, poetry, and any other creative work that you can photograph or submit digitally. This is not a contest. We welcome submissions from all countries. Deadline to submit art is April 30, 2021.

This exhibition is an opportunity for children and teens to learn about and respond to some of the critical issues related to nature access and racial and environmental justice.

Need help explaining this exhibition to your children or students? Check out our Tips for Parents and Teachers and our Toolkit for Talking with Kids About Equitable Nature Access for additional resources.
