Hello!

I haven't seen (or I've missed it!) an example of a Standards of Procedure (aka SOP) for the kitchen staff in handling garden-grown produce.

Do you know of a District that has something like this for their Nutrition Services staff?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Kirsten,

This is what we use in the Corvallis, Oregon school district. Hope it helps!

Hi Kristen,

Whole Kids Foundation with Slow Food USA came out recently with a new Garden to Cafeteria Toolkit. In chapter 2 they talk about how to handle fresh produce and procedures to have in place with the food service staff. Their is also webinar that goes over this information too!

You can download the toolkit and find out more here - https://www.wholekidsfoundation.org/garden-to-cafeteria-toolkit

Hope this helps!
