Title: Indigenous Contributions and Perspectives in Farm to School
Description: Are you a school teacher or community educator? In this session, learn how to build a farm to school practice in the classroom and garden that honors Indigenous contributions and perspectives. Learn from Brad Lopes, Aquinnah Wampanoag, and Emily Armstrong, of Island Grown Initiative, about their partnership to incorporate more Indigenous resources into a district wide farm to school curriculum. They will discuss primarily K-5 curriculum, but both have experience working through 12th grade. All of the lessons and resources that they discuss fit into the Massachusetts frameworks in social studies or science.
