Hi everyone,

Recently, Green Our Planet, with the support of Whole Kids Foundation, completed a Culturally Responsive Hydroponics Curriculum Framework, a document complementing the K-Grade 5 Hydroponics STEM Curriculum currently available to educators. We are happy to share it with you in this email!

The CRHCF was written by a cadre of Indigenous, Latinx, and White educators from Northern New Mexico and Las Vegas during the 2020-21 school year. It is designed to help teachers write lessons and create experiences for their students that take into account their students' cultures, experiences, and ways of learning and knowing.

The Framework encourages teachers to ask essential questions about hydroponics through the lenses of cultural significance and regional considerations. It also provides activities and resources with which to build rich lessons and experiences that will push their students into a further understanding of hydroponics, growing food, caring for the land, and more. We invite you to explore and use this resource however you see fit.

Additionally, GoP is looking for teachers of color to pilot the framework and provide feedback. Teachers that participate in the pilot will receive incentives such as a hydroponic growing system, hydroponic supplies, an Amazon gift card, or something that may best suit them and their teaching needs.

If you are interested in piloting the framework, please complete this form, and I will contact you with more information.

I hope you all have a great afternoon!
