I wanted to reach out to share an exciting opportunity for you to pass along/refer to teachers in your area. Pilot Light, a nationally-operating Food Education nonprofit, has just launched our 8th annual Food Education Fellowship which is a year-long paid fellowship for teachers interested in connecting to their students and communities through incorporating Food Education into their curriculum on a weekly basis. In addition to integrated Food Education lessons, Fellows will partner with an individual or organization in the food space to support student-led advocacy work within their classrooms. The Fellowship includes virtual monthly training, resources, and 1:1 support (including alumni teacher, grade/content area peer, and staff coaching).
More information can be found on the attached flyer and the application is linked here. The application and the admin approval form are due May 25th, 2026. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out or check out the FAQ! For more information about Pilot Light you can sign up for the newsletter here.
We also will be holding virtual office hours about the Fellowship with our alumni and program director on Wednesday, April 22nd from 5:30-6:30p CST (register here) and Monday, May 18th from 7-8p CST (register here) if you want to learn more about the experience directly from teachers.
In gratitude,
Lily Stark, Pilot Light Development Marketing Manager
