Hi Everyone,
We had a great webinar yesterday on the connections between School food
service and school gardens.
Here are the relevant resources:
- Recording is on our webinars page
<https://www.sgsonetwork.org/webinars> in the Archived section
- Handout <http://bit.ly/schoolfoodschoolgardens> from the presentation
with relevant links, including a link to the presentation slides
There were a couple of follow up questions. If you have answers or
suggestions for these questions, please respond to this thread and we can
all learn more!
1. Does anyone know of guidelines on ways to provide school garden
produce that has been preserved to serve for school lunches-- such as
canned tomato sauce or pickles, or relish, etc.?
2. There are some food service management companies (FSMC) that don't
allow school garden produce to be used in the cafeteria. Does anyone have
any suggestions for how to work with or around this?
Thanks!
Best,
Tristana

I was going to recommend the same resource. Thank you Emma! We built a
shade structure using a high tunnel frame - it is structurally sound and
wind-resistant. Let the group know what you decide to use!
