Hello everyone!

The North Carolina State University Farm to School Team is offering an asynchronous school garden course this spring. You can register using the link below. Feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any additional questions!



School Garden Course Opens March 3rd!

School Garden Course - REGISTRATION OPEN!

To learn more about starting or maintaining a school garden and its connection to Farm to School, register for the Farm to School: Creating the School Garden Online Course, starting March 3rd! 


Registration: February 3rd - February 28, 2025

Starts: March 3, 2025 (ends June 6, 2025)

Cost: $50 per participant

Delivery: Self-paced / Asynchronous online 

Course time: 6 - 8 hours to complete

Course Objectives:



  • Outlining strategies to start a school garden and developing a garden team
  • Describe school garden design principles and developing engaging spaces
  • Identify suggested crops and plants for your school garden
  • Establishing food safety and outdoor classroom management strategies
  • Outlining curriculum connections to the school garden
  • Recognizing methods to sustain your school garden
  • Describe how to start a garden in special circumstances
